We had our first ultrasound today. At 6 weeks 5 days we saw a tiny little baby and heard a beautiful little heartbeat.
Jack was so excited! He stopped the nurses in the hall and told them that he got to see his baby and his heart was beating.
We are all so happy. We are having a baby!

Starting to Feel Queasy
am thankful for the symptoms...it makes me feel like this pregnancy is okay. However, the last three days I have felt queasy after lunch and into the evening. Eating doesn't seem to help. It isn't bad yet...but with Jack, I was so sick I couldn't eat or drink anything...and I couldn't function at all. But that didn't happen until my second trimester.
I have our first ultrasound today. Praying to see one healthy little heart beating and a perfect little baby brother or sister for Jack.
He is determined that this is a brother.

Piano Lesson Potty Experience
I just had to note this somewhere as I don't want to ever forget the image of my sweet little boy on this night.
He was at his piano lesson (his second one alone with his new teacher Mr. Delgado.) The lesson was almost over when Mr. Delgado comes out and tells me that Jack had to use the potty....and that he needed help. (He seemed flustered/embarrassed and said that he couldn't help Jack.)
I got up and walked down the hall and then down the stairs to the little bathroom. There was my tiny little boy with no pants or underpants on (he takes everything off to go potty still) just socks and shoes. The poor little thing is standing there...confused.
There were two pieces of toilet paper on the seat (I always put toilet paper on the seat so that he doesn't sit on the potty with his bare bottom...and the sweet little heart remembered to do that.)
He seemed embarrassed and said Mommy...I don't know what to do. I am sure that Mr. Delgado got flustered when Jack started stripping off his clothes in front of him...and then that made Jack feel like he did something wrong.
My sweet little angel....to see his naked little butt standing there with his socks and shoes on and those two pieces of toilet paper on the toilet....I just will never ever forget that image of my baby.
I love you so much sweet little boy.

I Don't Feel Pregnant at All!
Well, I called the RE's office and asked if I could please schedule my first ultrasound prior to Easter so that we could feel comfortable sharing news with our families on Easter. They were very nice and told me that I may be disappointed as we may not even see a heartbeat if we do it that soon, but agreed to reschedule my appointment to April 13th. (I will be 6w5d). I am very excited.
They also told me that I could stop the dexamethasone now (I am bloated...hungry all of the time, retaining water...and my face is swollen...just like my first trimester with Jack)...but I am reluctant to stop now. All of the research that I have found says to continue on until 8-12 weeks. I am not sure what to do. I would love to have all of the water weight and swelling go down (it did immediately with Jack) but I would just die if I miscarried shortly thereafter...so I am leaning toward continuing at least until 8 weeks.
Lastly, I absolutely do not feel pregnant at all. Not a single sign. This makes me a little worried. I am glad that my ultrasound is a week from tomorrow....but I will be worried until then!
