As of Friday night...Katie is officially walking! She is not even 10 months and she is walking all over the place. (I walked at 9 1/2 months too!) It is so cute to see such a little one walking.

Katrie, Katie, Katie....She is Turning into a Little Person!
Little Katie. She is turning into a little person right before my eyes. I can't believe that she really isn't a little infant any longer. I am falling in love with her more and more each day. We went on a Disney Cruise with my Grandma, My Mom, and Paul's parents last week and Katie ate up all of the attention! Now she wants to be held all of the time by someone (she got used to never being alone and being held and paid attention to every minute of the day!) She loved all of the attention on the cruise and loved EVERYONE...from our extended family, to the servers, ship staff, and even all of the characters! She wanted to be held by the Disney characters and would grab them and reach out to any one that she saw. This little stinker is not shy at all!
She also started something new on the ship....she crinkles up her little nose when she laughs or smiles. This never fails to make everyone around her laugh and smile...so she does it even more. It is really cute! She took her first 2-3 solo steps on the cruise. Walking from a table to me...twice...but hasn't really tried to walk on her own beyond that yet. She is really steady when walking now and stands on her own...and goes from sitting to standing without pulling up on anything...so it is really just a matter of time at this point!
Katie says Mama and Dada...but not a lot. She babbles and talks in her own language....and CRIES when she is not being held! She is very very active and STRONG! She will push her way out of your arms when she wants to be doing something or going somewhere. She seems to want to be moving all of the time. And she hardly sleeps at all! She takes a short morning nap (maybe 30 mintues) and then a short afternoon nap (maybe an hour) and then doesn't go to sleep until 9:00 pm and is up by 7:00am....she just can't slow down!
She HATES to ahve her teeth brushed or her diaper changed. When we take off ehr diaper....seh grabs her but and squeezes it and squeezes it....it is so cute. Then she crawls away so that you can't put a new diaper on her and squirms and rolls around like a fish when you are trying to fasten her diaper.
She eats everything she is given, but only if she is alowed to feed herself. (She will refuse anything that we try to feed her unless it is a drink or icecream or some other sweet item....which she cannot refuse!) She doesn't care for bananas, though (whcih were one of Jack's favorites) and hates oatmeal (another of Jack's favorites at this age!). She had a bean burrito last night and loved it...go figure. This little girl is her own person....and I love this little person more and more every day!

Nine Months Old.
Mary Katherine turned 9 months old on September 2, 2007. My baby girl has now officially been outside of me as long as she was inside me. Prior to today she had belonged to me alone for longer than she belonged to the world. She is moving forward in her life with me (as her Mommy) and our time together becoming less and less a part of her entire existence. I can't help but feel that my littelest one is growing away from me bit by bit.
Despite those feelings she still wants Mommy as soon as I get home. She makes the sign for "num nums" whenever she is tired or wants comfort. She wants to be held all of the time...byt Daddy or Mommy. She had been saying "Dadda" a ;lot (since she was about 7 months....and then about a week ago, she pulled up on my leg and looked at me and said Mama. The next day she came crawling to me and said Mama...but she hasn't done that since.
She claps when you ask her to clap...and she waves hello whenever she sees someone that she hasn't seen for a while (like her Daddy whne he walks into the room after she wakesup from a nap...or whenever she sees her Nana. She does the sign for "doggie" and "light" and "book" and "num nums". She is cruising everywhere and can stand unassisted. She opens & closes her hand as her sign for "yes" (a sign that she invented herself in an attempt to communicate her feelings and needs.) She still seems uninterested in books. She still has 8 teeth.
She had her 9 month old appointment on September 4th. She weighs 19lbs even (7 1/2 lbs less than Jack at this age!). She is 29" tall and his head circumference is 48 cm. She is in the 55% in weight and 75% head size and 90% in height! Our sweet baby girl with the dark brown eyes and blonde hair. I can't believe she is 9 months old....it seems like just yesterday we were welcoming her to the world!
