| Well...things are getting busy around here! My new job (I have been with this company as a corporate lawyer now for almost 10 months...but it is such a great job it seems like just yesterday that I started!) is getting exciting. I am going to be working on some divestitures in London and in Sydney Australia! This is very exciting...but this means I will be traveling abroad a lot for the next 8 months...which is not great timing. First of all, my darling 16 year old kitty, Louie, who was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer one year ago really needs me. He was almost euthanized in June when his heart condition got so bad he couldn't even get up to go to the bathroom and just laid there barely able to breath. Fortunately for us, our vet was not able to come to our house to euthanize him at that time, and by that evening, thanks to the addition of Lasix to his medication regime, he was doing much better. It has been 7 months since that fateful day and I thank God for every day that we have with this sweet little man. Paul feeds him (Louie has to be force-fed...we have been doing this for him for almost 4 years as his kidney failure and heart failure make him not feel like eating). I sleep in a separate room with Louie (poor Paul) on a mattress on the floor. I started doing this when he was diagnosed with bladder cancer as the vet told us he didn't have more than a couple of months left to live....so I thought I would make them the best two months of his life...it is now 1 year since that diagnosis and he purrs when he sees me and curls up with me at night. I am not sure what would happen if I am gone for a long period of time...as he lives for our time together. Secondly, my travels abroad would be a problem as we are scheduled for our 3rd IVF in February...I started BCP on Thursday and I am scheduled to start Ultra sounds the week of February 11th. I will have to think of some excuse not to travel for a few weeks during that time period. |
