Transfer Day...A Brother or Sister for Jack?

On the morning of our transfer (yesterday, July 19th) we talked to Jack a little bit about possibly having a brother or sister. He wasn't sure that he really wanted one (not sure that he really understands what it would mean) but after talking about some of the fun things that he could do with a sister or brother (playing with his train set, in his pool, taking naps together, blowing bubbles, etc.) he decided that he would like a brother.

We told him that we would be going to the doctor's office that day to try to help Mommy have a baby, but that we would have to pray to God because it was up to God.

We all went into the room together and they told us that three of the four embryos survived the thaw and that there were 2 grade 1 (the best) 2-celled embryos and one grade 2 (on a scale of 1-5) 3-celled embryo. We transferred all three while the three of us held hands.

Jack layed up on the table with me while we let the little embryos get settled. It was so touching.

Jack and I spent the day lounging around together, taking naps, eating lunch, watching videos, etc. while Daddy was busy getting things ready around the house for our next trip to California this Saturday. It was so fun! Jack kept talking about the "baby in Mommy's tummy." I had to remind him that we didn't know for sure if a baby would stay in there so we would have to pray to God.

He has been so cuddly for the last week or so. Kissing, hugging and cuddling. I asked him if he wanted to go out to the park...and he said, "with you..." I had to tell him no, as I was supposed to be resting...so he and Daddy went outside and played while I got some soup and sandwiches ready. Then while we were getting ready for bed last night, he used the potty...and then got off and said "okay, Mommy your turn." Then he said, "wait" and ran back to the potty and took his little potty seat off the potty, and said "okay, Mommy...your turn." It was so sweet that he did that...how thoughtful for a two-year-old.

We all went to bed together...happy that the whole family of us (including the three little embryos that have been frozen for three years) were all together as a family for the very first time.

Please God, if it is your will, bless us with a sweet baby one more time.

*As a side note, for Jack's transfer, we had three embryos that divided, two Grade 3 (on a scale of 1-5) 6-celled embryos and one Grade 1 (the best) 4-celled embryo (I think this one became Jack!) and two embryos that didn't divide and which were not expected to progress. Thus this transfer resulted in what amounts to the same number of "viable" embryos and an even greater number of Grade 1 embryos.
