Jack Loves Halloween!

Jack loves all things scary...even though his becomes a bit afraid by these same things. Last weekend we took a ride on the GHOST TROLLY. The local Train Museum opens up one of its historical trains and has it decorated with some spooky things for Halloween. You walk through it while one of the volunteers provides a tour and the history of the train and the various cars your are walking through.

Then you get on to an old trolley that was used as public transportation in the early 1900's and the driver is dressed up like a monster and a volunteer tells a ghost story while you travel along in the dark on the trolley. (You pass a "hobo camp" and cross a bridge that "may collapse".) Then the trolley stops and a couple of skeleton/ghouls get on and punch your ticket. (If you don't have a ticket they will throw you off to live with the hobos.) It is pretty fun...Jack LOVES this tradition that we started last year...but he is afraid of it to. He goes back and forth not wanting to go again....but wanting to go again. We are planing to take one last ghost trolley ride tonight. Tomorrow we will head back for another round of "Boo at the Zoo", carve pumpkins on Sunday...with Trick-or-Treat to follow on Monday night.

Jack just loves all of the Halloween decorations and all of the scary things associated with this holiday. It is so fun to live through all of this with him.

On another note, Paul and I have decided to try IVF one more time in hopes of being blessed with a sibling for Jack. We will have to pay for everything out-of-pocket (@$10,000) so this is a very major decision for us. This will cut into the money that we had hoped to put aside to buy a house in the neighborhood where we want to live. We had hoped to be in a position to move in the Spring of 2007. We may or may not still be able to achieve that now....but we feel that it would be so wonderful for Jack to have a sibling to grow up with and to have family after we are gone...so we are going to try IVF one more time after the first of the year. Please say a prayer for us.
