We had such a great weeekend. Paul had work to do on both our old house and our new house so he was busy, so entertaining our 3 year old Jack was all my business.
Jack and I had a great time. We went to the pool on Saturday and then after eating lunch there, we took a nap and then went to the grocery store. (He was so excited to get some ZooPals--special paper plates that look like animals--that he couldn't wait to leave for the store as soon as we woke up.) We had fun there and then came home, had dinner and practiced his piano and then read books in bed.
On Sunday, we slept in so we missed church. We got up and made pancakes. Then we headed back to the pool and stayed for a couple of hours. We brought a packed lunch and ate it there. Jack was having so much fun swimming to me from the stairs that he didn't want to leave. We went home and took a nap. During his nap he yelled out in his sleep, "I can't get it!" "I can't get the water." Then he laid back down and said, "When will Mommy be home?" My heart broke.
After his nap we played with toys for a while (the Disney Cars are his favorites now) and then walked to the grocery store to buy some items that we needed to make stuffed cabbage rolls. We made them. Then after dinner we watched some Scooby Doo movies (Jack in my lap and Daddy sitting next to us) and then we read a book in bed.
It was such a wonderful weekend. We had so much fun doing nothing special but being together. I wish that I could be home with Jack all of the time like Daddy is.
This morning when Jack woke up, he smiled at me and asked, "What day is it?" I said, "Monday" and his little smile left his face and he started shaking his head "no". Poor little thing. I feel the same way. I wish I could be with him every second.
