I feel so terrible. Time has slipped away from me so quickly and I have failed to document any of the wonderful things that have been happening in our lives. (A lot has been going on which is why I have not had time to journal like I want to.)
We moved into our new home on September 30th. The new house is under construction (we are adding a 2000 square foot addition on the back) and the remainder of the house is being remodeled by us (Paul). It has been crazy. Paul is working so hard, we are living in a few rooms in the old part of the house...without insulation, without a kitchen for several weeks, cats all locked up in cages so they don't disappear during drywall insulation. UGH!!!
In the midst of all of this we finally sold our house in Delaware. (The offer was low, but the market is so bad right now we agreed to a selling price well below where we started.) It is a huge relief....I don't know how we could have handled both payments for long. It is bitter sweet. This was the house that we had planned and built ourselves. Our first house together. The house where Jack was born. The house where he was a baby and a toddler. So many memories...I am crying right now as I hate to lose those memories. But it is time to move on (hopefully for the last time for us) to a better school system and neighborhood. More space for Mom (she will have her own apartment in the lower level) and a better place for Jack and Mary Katherine to grow up.
We move all of our furniture (and Mom) in on November 7th! That means we really have to push to get floors, drywall, etc. in the house before then. Right now we are living with just the "extra" furniture that we moved out of the old house to make it look less crowded in order to show it better. There is so much to do and so little time. We are all very stressed!
Jack also started pre-school last month. He is enrolled in a Montessori School and he loves it. He goes for 3 hours a day 5 days a week. He is adjusting to the structure and to listening to others and interacting with other children. He is so social...but sometimes he doesn't like to listen to authority and he likes to touch other people...so he is learning new social skills. It is great for him and he LOVES it!
Meanwhile Mary Katherine is growing and becoming a little person....and I have been so bad about writing about her. At this week's appointment she weighed 4 lbs. 15 oz. and is measuring right on target (33 weeks 3 days). We had a 3-D ultrasound done last time (at 30 weeks) and you can see a lot of her face. It looks like she *may* have the same little turned up nose that Jack has which will be darling. I know we are going to love her and can't wait to meet her. I just hope we can be ready for her when she comes....we are not prepared at all for her yet. This is such a crazy but exciting time.
